HIGH POWER ARCHERY
NASP SUPPLEMENTAL TRAINING
NASP, The National Archery In The Schools Program, is an introductory archery program being offered in more and more schools each year. It is open to grads 4 through 12 and is currently being provided in select schools on Staten Island. It stands out among team sports, any student may participate. Students compete as a school team as well as individually. The program’s purpose is to promote core disciplines such as focus, patience, self-control, and self-growth, all of which can be applied in all facets of the student’s life.
Students are introduced to the program by school faculty and participate in training at school facilities. It presents a great opportunity and students can progress at their own pace.
One of the advantages of the NASP program is a level playing field. Students use identical equipment. Equipment is readily available, and the startup cost is affordable at under $300.00. Students are usually able to purchase this equipment from their schools or online via various vendors such as Amazon, and Lancaster Archery. This is one feature of the program that allows easy entry to the program for a broad variety of students and has resulted in the program’s rapid growth throughout the country in recent years.
High Power Archery, in partnership with Trinity Training Complex, is proud to be able to present our NASP supplemental training program for NASP competitors. Students enrolled in NASP programs at their local schools, as well as students who are interested in learning this style of archery are able to take advantage of advanced training and team building skills offered in our unique program lineup.
Supplementing shooting time at school with one of our programs not only provides needed additional instruction, it also provides excellent practice and preparation for both local, state and national tournaments.

JOAD PROGRAM
JOAD stands for Junior Olympic Archery Development, a program that provides archery instruction and competition for young archers AND adults across the U.S.A. The JOAD program is part of the USA Archery Association, a non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting the sport of archery in the United States.
The High Power Archery JOAD Program offers barebow, recurve and compound archers the opportunity to learn range safety and proper shooting technique in an environment that also fosters focus, increased self-confidence, and team building skills. Our JOAD program is open to students ages 8 to 20 and is designed to grow with the youth archer. Introductory classes teach the fundamentals of proper shooting form. As the archer develops, they will learn more advanced techniques and earn achievement awards. Slots are limited for each program and are distributed on a first come first serve basis. Please note, returning students are given first preference to participate in each program. Those who do not make the roster cut off can be placed on a waiting list and will be given an opportunity once a slot becomes available.
Generally, most JOAD programs are group only. However, the High Power Archery Advanced JOAD Program consists of both personal and group instruction.

Individual Training
Each student participating in programs which include individual training sessions will be provided with one on one coaching which we will focus on individual need. We will tailor their training program based on their skill level and work with them at their own pace. We also utilize this time to address any issues with their setup such as tuning and bow fitment.
Group Training
All students will participate in the group lessons. Group lessons are geared toward familiarizing the students with shooting in a group. This allows the students to work on individual items which need attention while giving them the opportunity to build team skills and see how other students adapt to learning situations. Students will begin to shoot individual games commencing with week two of each program. This allows them to see their progress and work on any areas necessary for improvement.
Tournaments
At the end of each program, week 4 or week 8, students will participate in an inter-program tournament. JOAD Students will have the opportunity to earn USA Archery Achievement awards. They also make for excellent skill building for future competitions.
